About Josh Siddon - Multifamily Technology Consultant
Multifamily technology consultant and writer based in the Memphis area. Founder of ResiQ.

I'm Josh Siddon, a multifamily technology consultant and writer based in the Memphis area. I started ResiQ because independent operators deserve the same quality of technology strategy advice that large REITs get from enterprise consultants, without the enterprise price tag or the vendor conflicts of interest.
Over the past 15+ years I've held IT leadership roles across property management, retail, and education, including positions at MAA, Fogelman Properties, Fred's Inc., and Shelby County Schools. That breadth of experience shapes how I work: I've seen what breaks in production, what vendors oversell, and what operators actually need.
I also write about multifamily tech at TechScribe.org, practical, no-fluff coverage of managed Wi-Fi, AI in property operations, networking, and smart building technology.
When I'm not consulting or writing, I'm involved in the broader tech community through SIM Memphis leadership, an Advisory Committee role for the USF Cybersecurity for Executives program, and volunteer work with FIRST Robotics in North Mississippi.

How I approach technology decisions
Good technology advice connects the commercial decision to daily operations. My role is to make requirements, tradeoffs, ownership, and implementation work visible before an operator commits budget and staff time. That approach applies whether the decision involves a portfolio platform, a building network, or ongoing IT leadership.
Start with operations
Define the resident, staff, ownership, and property workflows that the technology must support before comparing vendor demonstrations.
Keep recommendations independent
ResiQ does not accept vendor commissions or kickbacks. Recommendations are based on portfolio requirements, constraints, and the operator's ability to implement them.
Stay through the handoff
A selection only matters if it can be deployed and supported. Plans address responsibilities, training, escalation, acceptance, and the work that follows contract signature.
